In the Town Hall in Vršac on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the Interreg IPA Program Romania-Serbia (2021-2027) was launched, which continues the financing of cross-border cooperation in the Romanian-Serbian border area for the program period 2021-2027. Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III), with the support of the European Union and the governments of the two countries.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration of Romania, the Ministry of European Integration of Serbia, regional development agencies, local and regional authorities in the program area, the Chamber of Commerce, local and regional media and potential beneficiaries.
The deadline for submitting projects is February 1, 2023.
The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration from Romania is the Managing Body for the Interreg IPA Program Romania-Serbia 2021-2027, which will have a total budget of 87,725,681 euros. Financing of these priorities will amount to 85% of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III). For Romanian users, their own contribution will be 2%, while 13% will be provided by the Romanian state. Serbian users provide co-financing of 15% of their full contribution.
The program envisages financing projects for environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, health and education, tourism and culture, border management.
The eligible area of this program includes three counties from Romania (Timiş, Karaš-Severin and Mehedinci) and six counties from Serbia (North Banat, Central Banat, South Banat, Braničevski, Borski and Podunavski).
